Commedia Christmas Carol

Dickens' beloved characters have been sifted through the humorously skewed lens of commedia dell'arte, adapted and directed by Fayra Teeters. In this world Scrooge is a mumbling, fumbling Pantalone; Bob Cratchit is Arlecchino, literally bending over backwards to please; and The Ghost of Christmas Present is a pompous, gibberish-spouting Dottore.

The play features longtime company members: Tory Mitchell as Scrooge; Stan Brown as Bob Cratchit and Old Joe; Kenneth Dembo as Marley’s Ghost and Fred; Valerie Martinka-Davis as Belle, the Ghosts of Christmas Past and Future; Mark Friendly as Mrs. Dilber, Fezziwig and the Ghost of Christmas Present; Esther Vegdahl as Mrs. Everybody; and Zoe Russett as Tiny Tim and Little Fanny. These seven actors play 30 characters complete with costume changes. True to commedia tradition, the performance will be interactive, including the audience in a Carol Sing-Along and during key moments in the show.
